Accessories

Apr 17, 2019 | News

Your personal style is often expressed via accessories. This is where you can tell your story.

Your daily outfits will be more interesting to look at with accessories you have chosen and thereby make you stand out of the crowd.

Shoes, bags, belts, scarfs and jewellery all have different expressions and statements and by choosing the ones that you like, you will show the world who you are.

Since accessories will give you attention, it is a good thing to invest time in finding the perfect accessories that you are comfortable wearing on a daily basis.

So what basic accessories do you need? I suggest the following items:

JEWELLERY:

When it comes to jewellery you could invest in: necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets.

There are thousands of different jewellery and only the sky is the limit when it comes to how to wear your accessories and how much to wear at the same time.

SHOES:

Shoes and boots are important items when it comes to your personal style and they can change a whole outfit dramatically.

Even though it is nice to have a loot a shoes, I suggest you buy: sandals, pumps, flat shoes (ballerinas and/or lace up shoes), boots and a pair of sneakers. If you do not want to fill your house up with shoes in every colour in the world, I suggest you focus on investing in black, brown and/or navy shoes. These colours are easy to mix with every outfit you have.

BELTS:

A belt is not only to make sure your pants will not fall down. You can actually shape your body with a belt and show of your waist or accentuate longer legs e.g.

A broad belt around your waist will make it look as if you have an hourglass and your lower body will look longer.

If you choose to hang the belt a little bit loose and let it tilt slightly downwards on one side, your upper body will appear longer than it is.

If you are petite, a small belt can give you a little bit of volume if you wear it around your waist.

You can also use a big belt around your winter jacket to emphasize your waist.

A belt with lace or imitation jewellery make wonders on the little black dress in an instant.

BAGS:

I suggest you invest in an everyday bag (for work) that is large enough for your personal items (makeup, credit cards, mobile phone etc), and what else you need when you go to work (a book when you commute, a laptop, working shoes e.g.).

I would also invest in a smaller bag for the weekend (going to the cafe or restaurant e.g.).

And last, but not least: the clutch for going out at night.

If you are petite, it is important that your bag is not too big so you look as if the bag comes with you and not vice versa.

If you are a big girl, it is important that the bag is not too small. It will make you look bigger than you are.

Have fun shopping for your favourite accessories.
